About Us
The Art of Together (TAOT) is an art studio that provides an empowered, and creative space where individuals can heal and grow through the transformative power of art. Utilizing evidence based creative interventions such as mindfulness, spirituality and the Expressive Therapy Continuum (ETC), TAOT’s holistic approach addresses isolation, burnout, and stress among many other symptoms of our modern siloed world. Our community studio ethos is anchored in the clinical and personal experiences of our founder Ellen Greene.
TAOT specializes in providing individual and group therapeutic art for adults with both virtual and in-person offerings. No prior art experience is necessary to participate in our programs, only a desire to grow in your creative expressive capacities. Our studio supplies participants with all of the art-making materials you need to explore various art medium. Our mission is to create a community which fosters creative expression resulting in emotional healing, personal growth and creative empowerment.
Our Materials Philosophy: Creative with Care
At The Art of Together, we believe that creativity and sustainability go hand in hand. We aim to source our supplies secondhand and/or from local suppliers.
Our studio embraces a mindful approach to materials by blending:
Fine art supplies (i.e. paints, pastels, inks, paper)
Craft materials (i.e. fibers, beads, clay, mixed media)
Recycled and repurposed everyday objects (i.e. fabric scraps, textured papers, small found objects, cardboard, magazines)
Why we do this:
Reduce Waste: Giving new life to discarded materials honors both the earth and the creative spirit.
Inspire Playfulness: Working with unexpected textures and forms invites innovation, experimentation, and joy.
Foster Resourcefulness: In art — as in life — we often find new possibilities when we work with what we already have.
You are encouraged to explore, combine, and reinvent materials freely in your work. We hope this approach reminds us all that something beautiful and meaningful can be created from the simplest of beginnings.
